The Department of English at the University of York is delighted to host an MHRA Research Associateship for 12 months on a half-time contract, working with Dr Kevin Killeen as an assistant on The Oxford Works of Sir Thomas Browne.


You will have completed a PhD in an early-modern field, and will be based in York.  You should also have (or have the ability to develop) high-quality editorial skills and, preferably, a reading knowledge of Latin. Knowledge of early modern popular, religious and visual culture would be an advantage. However, applications from post-doctoral researchers in any early modern area will be considered, provided that the relevant research skills and an enthusiasm for the project can be demonstrated.


Salary will be £34,956 a year, reduced pro rata.  The hours of work will be 18.5 a week (50% of full-time).  The post is available from 1 September 2017 for a period of 12 months.
