A Huguenot Scholar at the Court of King James: The New Edition of Isaac Casaubon’s Letters from London, 1610-1614

5pm, University of Warwick

The new edition of the letters of the great Huguenot scholar Isaac Casaubon (1559-1614) has now been published in four volumes, the culmination of a three-year project funded by the Leverhulme Trust. The letters date from Casaubon’s years in London 1610-1614, and over 40% of the letters in the edition are published here for the first time.

The editors, Paul Botley (University of Warwick) and Máté Vince (Trinity College Dublin), will present the new edition at a launch event at the University of Warwick on Tuesday 5 March 2019. The event will start at 5pm, and take place in the Wolfson Research Exchange, 3rd Floor of the University Library; we envisage the event will last for just over an hour. All are welcome, but please register your attendance in advance by sending an email to: renaissance@warwick.ac.uk.

The event is organised as part of the Centre for the Study of the Renaissance’s STVDIO seminar series.

Please join them in celebrating, and in discussing the relevance of Casaubon’s letters for early modern scholarship.
