Italian Language and Culture Weekend Course

Basic to intermediate Italian weekend – 4 to 6 July

 

The course, conducted partly in Italian and partly in English, is designed for those who can already communicate in Italian and who wish to extend their basic skills, aiming to gain more confidence in their use of both written and oral Italian and to obtain a better understanding of various aspects of the culture of the country. The level of linguistic competence required ranges from A2 to B1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

 

The course will be taught by Dr Emanuela Davey, from the University’s Department of Italian.

This is a weekend course taking place at Madingley Hall, three miles west of Cambridge. Madingley Hall is an elegant 16th century mansion set in seven acres of gardens landscaped by ‘Capability’ Brown. With state-of-the-art teaching facilities, an award-winning kitchen and 62 comfortable en suite bedrooms, it’s a popular destination for adult learners.

 

The course will begin with dinner on Friday 4 July and finish after lunch on the Sunday. Lunches and dinners are included in the course fee, which is £240.

 

Accommodation at Madingley Hall is available on the Friday and Saturday nights for £110, or £90 per person for two people sharing.
