From Text to Network: Confessional Contacts and Textual Exchange between the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Britain

By focusing on two methods of transfer of ideas between the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Britain – the presence of correspondence and the circulation of printed books – my research aims to reveal the role of Lithuania within broad European networks of Protestants and Catholics and the influence of information circulation on religious life. Furthermore, the flow of Scottish expatriates to Lithuania created new interactions that challenged or confirmed the religious identities of the local population. The examination of these interactions can reveal how the cultural exchange and the migration of Scots affected the process of religious identity formation.
