New book: The Psalms in English 1530-1633

The MHRA is delighted to announce the publication of the latest volume in their Tudor & Stuart Translations series: The Psalms in English 1530–1633, edited by Hannibal Hamlin.

The volume is a monumental collection of translations of the Psalms from the period, including those from all the English Bibles, lyric poets such as Thomas Wyatt, Philip and Mary Sidney, John Donne, George Herbert, and John Milton, others such as Francis Bacon, Simon Forman, Katherine Parr, Anne Askew, James VI and I, and many, many more. The volume demonstrates how the Psalms were an ever-present thread woven throughout literature of all kinds in early modern England.
