When the Covid-19 pandemic struck, many academic events had to scramble to move online. At the Society for Renaissance Studies, Dr Rachel Willie (Liverpool John Moores University) was the driving force behind a series of new and exciting events, from seminars and conversations to book launches, hosted on Crowdcast and engaging a broad global audience. In this interview, Rachel talks about the process of developing a programme of popular online scholarly events, and discusses the challenges and opportunities – both practical and intellectual – posed by this new turn to online events.
